Neora Review (2026): The FTC Win, the Products and the Pay

Neora has a story most MLMs can't tell: it went to trial against the Federal Trade Commission and won. Maybe you know it by its old name, Nerium. Maybe a friend just showed you their before-and-after photos.
So is Neora legit, are the products worth the price, and can you make money as a Brand Partner in 2026? This Neora review covers what happened with the FTC, what the products cost, how the pay works, and what Neora's own earnings disclosure says.
Quick answer: Neora is a legitimate company, and in 2023 a federal court ruled for Neora in the FTC's pyramid scheme case. But by its own 2025 numbers, 62.75% of active US Brand Partners earned no cash commissions, and the average was $1,186 for the year before expenses.
I've been inside 8 network marketing companies since 2004, and I always start with the company's own words and the official records. For Neora, I read its earnings disclosure, About, leadership, opportunity and product pages, the FTC's 2019 press release, the federal court docket, its BBB profile, and its public social media. You can see the companies I've reviewed all on one page.
Here's what I found.
Is Neora Legit or a Scam?
Neora is legit. It's been selling since 2011, it went through one of the most serious legal challenges an MLM can face, and the court ruled in its favor.
Its BBB profile shows an A+ rating, but Neora is not BBB accredited. That's not a red flag on its own. The BBB itself says businesses are under no obligation to seek accreditation. It's just worth knowing what the rating does and doesn't mean.
What Is Neora?
Neora sells anti-aging skincare, plus some wellness and nutrition products, through independent sellers it calls Brand Partners. It was called Nerium International until it renamed itself Neora.
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Founded | 2011 (as Nerium International) |
| Founder | Jeff Olson |
| Products | Anti-aging skincare, plus wellness and nutrition products |
| Sellers | Independent Brand Partners |
| BBB | A+ rating, not accredited |
| Status | Active in 2026 |
Here's the company's own timeline, from its About page:
- 2011: launches in August with a corporate staff of 13, built on one product, Age IQ Night Cream.
- 2015: launches EHT Brain Health Formula in the US.
- 2023: "Neora wins landmark victory against the FTC."
- 2024: acquires ACN Korea, expanding into the Asia-Pacific region.
- 2025: reports 47% year-over-year sales growth.
- 2026: debuts a new compensation plan.
Neora also says it has sold "more than 40 million products." You can compare its status with other companies in the full directory of MLM companies.
Who's Behind Neora?
Neora is a family-led company. Its leadership page lists:
- Jeff Olson: Founder & CEO
- Amber Olson Rourke: CEO
- Renee Olson: Co-Founder & Chief Leadership Officer
- Damon Rourke: Executive Vice President of Sales
One small oddity: the leadership page lists both Jeff Olson and Amber Olson Rourke as CEO, and the opportunity page signs off as "Amber Olson Rourke | Co-Founder & CEO."
Neora Products and Prices
Here's what two of Neora's best-known products cost on neora.com when I checked on October 14, 2026:
| Product | Size | One-time price | SmartShop subscription |
|---|---|---|---|
| Age IQ Night Cream | 1 fl oz | $115 | $98 |
| Moisture-Lock Lip Mask | 0.37 fl oz | $35 | $25 |
Neora says its night cream uses Bidens pilosa, which it calls "a powerful bio retinol" and "a plant-based alternative to retinol." I'm not going to tell you whether it works on your skin; I can't test that, and skincare results vary. What I can tell you is the price, and that you can compare it with other well-known creams below.
The FTC Lawsuit: What Happened
This is the part most people are searching for, so here it is plainly, from the official records.
On November 1, 2019, the FTC announced it had sued "the multi-level marketer Neora, LLC," formerly Nerium International, and its CEO, Jeffrey Olson. The FTC alleged that the company "operates as an illegal pyramid scheme" and challenged its marketing of the EHT supplement.
The case was heard in federal court in the Northern District of Texas (FTC v. Neora LLC, No. 3:20-cv-01979, N.D. Tex.), before Senior Judge Barbara M. G. Lynn. On September 28, 2023, the court issued its findings: all of the FTC's requests for relief, including its request for an injunction, were denied, and judgment was entered for Neora and Jeffrey Olson. The judgment ordered that the FTC "take nothing on its claims."
Neora says this made it the first direct-selling company to defeat FTC pyramid scheme claims in a court trial since Amway in 1979. I found no appeal in the Fifth Circuit records I searched.
What does that mean for you? It means a court found Neora's business model was not an illegal pyramid scheme, based on the evidence in that case. It doesn't mean Brand Partners make money. Those are two different questions, and the second one is answered by Neora's own numbers below.
Is Neora an MLM?
Yes. Neora sells through independent Brand Partners, who earn commissions on sales and bonuses for building a team. Its opportunity page says "Earn up to 35% in commissions, paid weekly." It also adds the line every MLM should: "Compensation is not guaranteed."
How Neora Brand Partners Get Paid
From Neora's opportunity and earnings pages:
- Commissions: up to 35% on customer sales, paid weekly.
- Product credits: up to $100 a month to spend on Neora products.
- A discount: save up to 55% on your own orders.
- The Lifestyle Bonus: replaced the old Car Bonus on August 1, 2026. Eligibility rules apply.
- An incentive trip: in 2025, the trip was to Cabo.
Neora also launched a new compensation plan in 2026, so older YouTube videos explaining "the Neora comp plan" may be out of date.
What Neora Brand Partners Really Earn
This is straight from Neora's own earnings disclosure for January to December 2025:
- 17,695 active US Brand Partners.
- 37.25% earned cash commissions. 62.75% did not earn any.
- Average annual gross cash earnings: $1,186.
- 21% received bonuses or commissions paid in free product, which aren't counted in that average.
- 2.07% earned a Car Bonus for one month or more.
- 245 earned the incentive trip to Cabo.
"Active" means a Brand Partner who made a sale to a customer or had a personal purchase in the prior 18 months, and who was registered for all of 2025. Neora says the earnings figures don't include "any expenses paid or the value of any time expended."
So the average active Brand Partner grossed about $99 a month, before the cost of their own products, samples and events. And most earned no cash commissions at all. I respect Neora for publishing this. Read it before you buy a launch pack.
What Neora's Social Media Shows Right Now
These numbers were read on October 14, 2026.
| Platform | Handle | Followers | Posts | Last post |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube | @NeoraOfficial | 28.9K subscribers | 1.1K videos | October 14, 2026 |
| @official_neora | 46K | 2,884 | not shown | |
| TikTok | @official_neora | 4,706 | 716 videos | not shown |
Neora posts often, and its YouTube channel uploaded the day I checked. But the TikTok account is small and isn't linked from neora.com, so Brand Partners will need to build their own audience.
The Good: What Neora Gets Right
- It beat the FTC in court. That's rare, and it's on the federal record.
- An honest earnings disclosure. It shows the share who earned nothing, not just the averages.
- Real products people buy. Its night cream has been its flagship since 2011.
- Weekly commissions and product credits, which some Brand Partners will like.
The Concerns: What You Need to Know
- Most Brand Partners earn nothing. 62.75% of active US Brand Partners earned no cash commissions in 2025.
- The average is small. $1,186 for the year, gross, before expenses.
- The products are expensive. $115 for a 1 oz night cream is premium pricing.
- A brand-new comp plan. Changed in 2026, so check the current plan, not old training videos.
Product Alternatives
You don't need to join Neora, or pay Neora prices, to get a good night cream or a lip mask. Here are well-known options:
| What you want | Neora | Alternative | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| A night cream | Age IQ Night Cream, $115 for 1 fl oz | CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream, $15.44 | A widely sold drugstore night cream at a fraction of the price |
| A gentler, plant-based retinol alternative | Age IQ Night Cream with Bidens pilosa "bio retinol," $115 | EQQUALBERRY bakuchiol serum, $22.99 | Bakuchiol is another plant-based ingredient marketed as a retinol alternative |
| An overnight lip mask | Moisture-Lock Lip Mask, $35 | LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask, $24.00 | A popular overnight lip mask that's cheaper per order |
Amazon prices are what each listing showed on October 14, 2026, and they change often. If you love a Neora product and it works for you, that's your call. Just know you have choices at very different price points.
Neora vs Other Skincare MLMs
If you're comparing skincare companies, read my Nu Skin review and my Rodan + Fields review, a company that left MLM in 2024. And for the FTC side of the story, compare Neora's court win with the 1979 FTC ruling covered in my Amway review and the $200 million settlement in my Herbalife review.
My Verdict: Is Neora Worth It in 2026?
One More Thing...
Here's the thing most people miss about Neora: the court case proved the company is legal. It didn't change the math for Brand Partners. The ones who earn are the ones with a steady stream of new customers.
Most uplines still teach the warm market list and before-and-after posts to friends. But the people searching for "best night cream for wrinkles" are online right now. When you learn to show up where they're searching, with helpful content instead of a pitch, you stop chasing friends and family. And that skill works with any company.
That's what The Sponsoring System teaches. It's a free email series where I share the digital marketing that actually works for networkers. If you want it, start the free series here.
