LuLaRoe Review (2026): Is LuLaRoe Still in Business, and Is It Worth Joining?

If you were on Facebook around 2016, you remember LuLaRoe. The live sales, the "unicorn" prints, the leggings everyone seemed to be selling. Then came the lawsuits, the documentaries and a lot of people wondering what happened.
So is LuLaRoe still around in 2026, and would I join it today? This LuLaRoe review covers where the company stands now, what its own numbers say retailers earned in 2025, the Washington settlement, the documentaries, and cheaper ways to get the look.
Quick answer: LuLaRoe is still in business. It's a California clothing company that sells through Independent Fashion Retailers, who buy inventory and resell it. Its own 2025 income disclosure puts the median retailer's gross profit at $389.35 for the year, before expenses.
I've been inside 8 network marketing companies since 2004, and I always start with the company's own words. For this review I read lularoe.com's About, join and income disclosure pages, the Washington Attorney General's release, its BBB profile and its public social media numbers. You can browse every company I've reviewed on one page.
Here's what I found.
Is LuLaRoe Still in Business?
Yes. When I checked on October 14, 2026, lularoe.com was selling a "Warm Wishes Holiday Collection" and a "Dress To Possess Halloween Collection" of leggings, with a 2026 copyright. Its 2025 income disclosure statement was posted on the site, and its YouTube channel had uploaded a video two days earlier, on October 12, 2026.
It's still selling. You can compare its status with other companies in the full MLM company directory.
What Is LuLaRoe?
LuLaRoe sells women's clothing: leggings, dresses, skirts and tops, often in limited prints. It sells through Independent Fashion Retailers. According to its About page, retailers make "a minimum product order from LuLaRoe," then "sell the LuLaRoe collection to Consumers at a markup."
| Detail | Info |
|---|---|
| Founded | 2013, per the company (Wikipedia and the BBB give a 2012 business start) |
| Founders | Mark and DeAnne Stidham |
| Headquarters | Corona, California |
| Products | Leggings, dresses, skirts and tops |
| Sellers | Independent Fashion Retailers |
| Status | Active in 2026 |
Its growth was famous. Wikipedia reports it had 750 distributors and $9.8 million in sales early on, more than 80,000 distributors by April 2017, and about $2.3 billion in revenue in 2017.
Who's Behind LuLaRoe?
LuLaRoe was founded by husband and wife Mark and DeAnne Stidham. In September 2025, Direct Selling News reported that Mark Stidham, "founder and owner of LulaRoe," had passed away. The company's statement said the foundation he and DeAnne built "will continue to bless lives for generations to come."
The company hasn't announced a new CEO that I could find. Its About page says "DeAnne is forward-focused" but doesn't give her a title, so I won't guess at one.
What LuLaRoe Sells and What It Costs
Product prices are set on each retailer's shop page. Here's what I saw on retailer listings linked from lularoe.com on October 14, 2026:
- Essential Leggings (T/C, the tall and curvy size): $25.00
- Carly swing dress: $45.00
- Sharon top: $38.00
- Boxy T: $35.00
The leggings are what made the brand. People love the soft fabric and the prints, and that's still the core of the line.
How Do You Join LuLaRoe?
The join site lists three steps: "Complete the Online Registration," "Place your initial order," and "Connect with our onboarding team to choose your items!"
What it doesn't list is a price. I couldn't find the current cost of an initial order anywhere on the public site. For history: the Washington Attorney General said LuLaRoe once required new retailers to buy an "onboarding" package costing between $500 and $5,000, and Wikipedia reports a 2017 range of $4,925 to $9,000. Both are old figures. Ask for today's number in writing before you commit.
How LuLaRoe Retailers Get Paid
There are two ways. Retailers earn the markup on the clothes they resell, and some also earn through what LuLaRoe calls its Leadership Compensation Plan, based on the retailers they bring in. I couldn't find the plan document itself on the public site.
What LuLaRoe does publish is an income disclosure. Here's what its 2025 nationwide statement says:
- All retailers: median gross profit of $389.35 for 2025, average of $10,197.68.
- Leadership plan: 9.54% of retailers were paid through it; 90.46% were not.
- Leadership pay: median of $665.02 for 2025 among those who were paid, average of $9,263.12.
Two things matter here. First, these are gross profit figures before expenses, and the statement itself says expenses like racks, shipping and travel can run "several hundred dollars or thousands of dollars annually." Second, the gap between the average and the median tells you a small group earns most of the money.
LuLaRoe also posts a separate Washington State statement. It says 50% of Washingtonians who joined in 2024 "canceled their participation or became inactive within a year of joining."
I give LuLaRoe credit for publishing this. Read it before you place an initial order.
The Washington Settlement
This is the part people search for, so here it is plainly. On February 2, 2021, the Washington Attorney General announced that LuLaRoe would pay $4.75 million to resolve a consumer protection lawsuit alleging it operated a pyramid scheme. About $4 million went to roughly 3,000 Washingtonians.
LuLaRoe denied wrongdoing, and the settlement was not a court finding. But it did change how the company operates. Under the resolution, LuLaRoe agreed to:
- Publish an income disclosure statement that accurately details retailer income potential.
- Calculate bonuses based on retail sales, not on the amount of merchandise retailers buy.
- Let new retailers return all inventory for a full refund, including shipping, within 45 days.
That income disclosure I quoted above is part of what came out of this.
The Documentaries: LuLaRich and More
If you searched "LuLaRoe documentary," there are two. LuLaRich premiered on Amazon Prime in September 2021, and Discovery released The Rise and Fall of LuLaRoe in November 2021. Both cover the boom years, when stories of overstocked inventory were everywhere.
If you were one of the retailers in those years, you weren't foolish. A lot of good people joined something that looked like it was working, and plenty of them built real customer relationships doing it.
What LuLaRoe's Social Media Shows Right Now
These numbers were read from each public profile on October 14, 2026.
| Platform | Handle | Followers | Posts | Last post |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| @lularoe | 211K | 7,725 | not shown | |
| YouTube | LuLaRoe | 13.4K subscribers | 1.6K videos | October 12, 2026 |
| TikTok | @lularoe | not readable |
Instagram is still large, and YouTube is posting regularly. The audience is smaller than in the peak years, but it's an active brand.
The Good: What LuLaRoe Gets Right
- It's still here. New collections, a 2026 site and fresh videos.
- It publishes its numbers. A nationwide and a Washington income disclosure, both for 2025.
- Better return terms than the early years. New retailers can return all inventory within 45 days for a full refund, including shipping.
- Customers like the fabric. The leggings are why the brand got big in the first place.
The Concerns: What You Need to Know
- Modest median earnings. A median gross profit of $389.35 for 2025, before expenses.
- No public startup price. You have to ask what an initial order costs.
- Inventory risk. You buy the clothes before you sell them, so unsold stock is your problem after the return window.
- Legal history. The 2021 Washington settlement, which LuLaRoe denied.
- Leadership change. No new CEO has been announced since Mark Stidham's death in 2025.
Product Alternatives
If you love the leggings but don't want to buy inventory, here's what else is out there. These are everyday options, not exact copies of LuLaRoe's prints.
| What you want | LuLaRoe product and price | Alternative | Why consider it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Printed leggings | Essential Leggings (T/C), $25.00 | Leggings Depot High Waisted Camouflage & Multiple Print Leggings for Women | $12.99; lots of prints, regular and plus sizes |
| A T-shirt dress | Carly swing dress, $45.00 | MOLERANI Women's Casual Plain Simple T-Shirt Loose Dress | $14.99; a loose tee dress in a similar shape |
| A maxi skirt | LuLaRoe maxi skirts (price set by each retailer) | URBAN K Womens Basic Foldable High Waist Regular and Plus Size Maxi Skirts | $19.95; fold-over jersey waist, regular and plus sizes |
| An oversized tee | Boxy T, $35.00 | Ebifin Womens Oversized Tshirts V Neck Tee Tshirts Summer Cotton Tunic Tops | $7.99; a loose tunic-length tee |
The Amazon prices are the buy-box prices on each listing when I checked on October 14, 2026, for the default size and color, and all four were in stock. Clothing prices change by size and color, so check before you buy.
LuLaRoe vs Other Social Selling Companies
If you like selling on Facebook Live, compare LuLaRoe with my Younique review and Color Street, and with my Paparazzi Accessories review, another company that settled with Washington State. For a reminder of how fast a famous brand can shrink, read about Tupperware. Compare them on what it costs to start, whether you hold inventory, and what their income disclosures say.
My Verdict: Is LuLaRoe Worth It in 2026?
One More Thing...
The LuLaRoe sellers who did best were the ones who could draw a crowd. A live sale only works if people show up.
That skill is worth more than any product. When you learn to build an audience that trusts you, you're not tied to one company's inventory or one company's future. You can take it anywhere.
