Modern Social Review (2026): Is the Be Social Academy Worth $997?

If you're a woman building a network marketing business on social media, Modern Social has probably shown up in your feed. They've been running Facebook ads to social sellers since at least May 2024, longer than almost any other network marketing coach I looked at. I went through their programs, prices and terms so you can see what's actually behind the ads.

Who Is Behind Modern Social?

Modern Social is run by two founders who go by their first names, Dawn and Hilarry. Their site describes them as "former teachers turned stay-at-home moms that stumbled into a social selling business." They say they went from skeptics to building "a $20 million business in less than three years."

The site doesn't give their last names or say which network marketing company they built in, and that $20 million figure is their own claim, not one I could check. What I can say is that the business has been around for a while: the domain dates back to 2019, and their ads have run continuously since 2024.

Their whole approach is built around what they call the SEC Method: Social media attracts people, Email makes the money, and Cutting-edge strategy plus community keeps it going. I like that email is a core part of it. Most social selling training stops at "post more."

What They Sell

The Social Club: $10 a month

This is the entry point, described as an "ultra affordable membership to give you the tools you need to make money on social." As of October 2026 it's $10 per month, cancel anytime, and the checkout page was promoting a free start ("$0 instantly applied at checkout"). It includes:

  • A daily content roadmap
  • A weekly Reels generator
  • Done-for-you templates and scripts
  • A new social selling course every month
  • A private community
  • A bonus Reels kickstart course

Canceling is simple by their own description: "Just log in to your dashboard and hit cancel and you'll never be charged again."

Be Social Academy: $997 (or 12 payments of $99)

The Academy is their main program, pitched as "the #1 program for female social sellers ready to hit the top ranks and 5-figure months." You can pay $997 once for lifetime access or 12 monthly payments of $99 ($1,188 in total).

It includes the SEC Method course, a business course library, photo, caption and Canva template libraries, monthly masterclasses and content, a Reels playbook, a members-only community and lifetime small-group coaching. The page lists all of that as worth "over $23,000." That's a marketing value stack, not what you'd ever pay, so don't let it anchor you.

Dollars & Downlines

A course and live event built around the promise to "get 100 new customers and 30 new downlines every month without online parties or messaging strangers." I didn't find a price for it on the pages I read.

Refunds

The Academy's own FAQ answers "What happens if I don't like it?" with: "We follow the industry standard and do not offer refunds on digital products or programs."

So the $997 is a final decision. The $10 Social Club is the low-risk way to find out whether their teaching style works for you, since you can cancel it any time.

Claims to Read Carefully

Modern Social's ads promise "You can recruit 20-30 new downlines every month WITHOUT… posting daily, messaging people, hosting FB parties." The Dollars & Downlines page talks about 30 new downlines a month, and the Academy page says some members "made 2-3x their investment in just their first 30 days."

Those are their best-case examples. I didn't see a typical-results disclosure next to them on the pages I read, and no program can promise you a number of recruits. Treat them as what's possible for someone who works it hard, not as what to expect.

Reviews

I couldn't find a Trustpilot page for hellomodernsocial.com, so the only reviews I could read are the testimonials on its own site. Those mention doubled followings, sales up "at least 50%" a month and one member who "made queen of sales 7 times." They're real members' stories, chosen by the company, so they're not a substitute for independent reviews.

What I Like

  • The $10 entry point. It's one of the cheapest ways to get structured, ongoing social selling help, and you can cancel any time.
  • Email, not just posting. Making email a core part of the method is smarter than most social media training.
  • Built for its audience. It's written for women in social selling, by two women who did it, and it shows in the content and the community.
  • Staying power. Ads running steadily since 2024 and a domain from 2019 suggest a real, ongoing business.

What Could Be Better

  • No refunds on the Academy. $997 is a real commitment with no way back.
  • Limited founder transparency. First names only, and no company named for the $20 million claim.
  • Big recruiting numbers in the ads with no typical-results language.
  • No independent reviews I could find.

Who It Fits

  • Women building a social selling business who want daily content ideas, Reels help and a supportive community. Start with The Social Club.
  • Social Club members who love it and want deeper coaching. The Academy makes more sense once you know the teaching works for you.

Who Should Skip It

  • Anyone who'd be stretching to pay $997 with no refund available.
  • Men in network marketing. Nothing says you can't join, but it isn't written for you.
  • Anyone who wants independent reviews before buying a bigger program.

My Take

Modern Social is a real, long-running training brand that knows its audience well, and The Social Club at $10 a month is an easy, low-risk way to try it. The Be Social Academy could be worth it if you've used the Club and you like how they teach, but go in knowing it's non-refundable and that the big numbers in the ads are best cases. Try the cheap option first, and let that decide whether the expensive one is for you.

One More Thing...

Posting, Reels and email all work better when people already know and trust you before you ever ask them to join. That's the piece we focus on inside The Sponsoring System: building an online presence so the right people find you, instead of you chasing them. It's free to get started.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Modern Social?

Modern Social (hellomodernsocial.com) is a social selling training company for women in network marketing, run by two founders who go by Dawn and Hilarry. It teaches its SEC Method: social media to attract people, email to make sales, plus strategy and community. It sells a $10 a month Social Club membership and a $997 Be Social Academy.

How much does Modern Social cost?

As of October 2026, The Social Club is $10 a month, cancel anytime, with a free start promoted at checkout. The Be Social Academy is $997 paid in full for lifetime access, or 12 monthly payments of $99 ($1,188 in total). The Dollars and Downlines course and event did not show a price on the pages I read.

Does Modern Social offer refunds?

Not on the Academy. Its membership page says, "We follow the industry standard and do not offer refunds on digital products or programs." The $10 Social Club can be canceled from your dashboard at any time, which stops future charges.

Is Modern Social only for women?

It is built for women. The Be Social Academy calls itself "the #1 program for female social sellers," and the examples, testimonials and ads are aimed at women and moms building a social selling business. Nothing I read says men cannot join, but the content is not written for them.

Can Modern Social really get me 20 to 30 new downlines a month?

That figure comes from Modern Social's own ads and is not a typical result. I did not see a typical-results disclosure next to it. Your results depend on your company, your effort and how consistently you use what you learn.
