4 Surefire Ways to Find Blogging Topics

By Matt Hall · Been in 8+ MLM companies since 2004 · Last updated Mar 6, 2013

Coming up with topics for your blog can be difficult sometimes, but it really shouldn’t be these days. Here are 4 surefire ways to find topics to write about on your blog so you can consistently give your readers great content.

  • Go Learn Something New – This is my favorite strategy of them all. Learning new things helps you stay fresh and allows you to provide cutting edge information to your audience. The more you learn about your niche, the more you have to write about. I try to go through between 1 and 3 hours of training every single day and then I translate that into content for my blog, social media, and emails. Sometimes you can even make multiple posts out of one training if the training is informative enough.
  • Mine Other Blogs in Your Niche – This is one of my number one strategies. In fact, nearly all of the posts in my Tips Section come from expert marketers around the web! The one key here is to NOT copy and paste. Simply write a short summary or description of what they wrote and add in your own opinion.
  • Live Your Life – I know this may sounds counter intuitive, but it’s actually a good thing for you to pull yourself away from the monitor for a bit and go do something in the real world. Sharing your personal experiences with your audience can help build rapport and can makes your content more entertaining. Go do fun things. Go do hard things. Go to seminars or events. Heck, just go for a jog and get your blood flowing! Getting out of the house or office and experiencing life is a great way to come up with new content.
  • Review Products, Services, Companies, or Gurus – If all else fails, you can always fall back to this technique. In most niches, there is a never ending supply of new stuff to review. Sometimes you’ll have to buy a product or service to test it, and sometimes you can just shoot an email to the company or individual and ask for a complimentary trial product or service to write about. Either way, it gives  you something helpful and valuable to write about.

Okay, so there are a lot more than these 4 ways, but these are some of my favorites. What are some of yours?
